The flying of radio controlled aircraft of any sort is controlled by the MAAA and MAAQ (Queensland), visit www.maaq.org for more details.
CMHCI also has rules specific to it's flying location.
Pilots: When flying must stand between the pits area and the flying area.
Aircraft: When operating must be a minimum of 30 meters from any person, bystander or private property. Must not be flown over people, past the light post of the main soccer field or behind the flight line (ie. past the fence over the colonial club). See photo below.
Signs: A sign must be displayed at entry to pits area while flying, warning the general public that radio controlled model helicopter flying is in progress.
Aircraft numbers: Only one aircraft to be in the air at a time except by mutual agreement of the pilots that will be flying and at the initial discression of the first pilot flying.
Members flying: All people flying must be members of the CMHCI.
Visitors: Visitors must be current members of a MAAA affiliated club before permission can be granted to fly and only allowed on two separate visits thereafter they must become an associate member.
Nitro aircraft: All nitro powered aircraft and helicopters must not be run up, taken off or landed on the main part of the soccer fields (ie. within the lines of the field). Running up, taking off and landing is ok between the soccer fields (ie. at the end of the cricket pitch). To take off or land within the soccer fields, a matt must be put down.
When flying at the Endevour park soccer grounds, anyone maintaining the field or playing sports on the fields must not be flown over, you are to fly ATLEAST 30m away from them, if this is not possible, you must land.
